Project Gallery
Welcome to the Three Oaks Inc. Project Gallery. Here, you can explore a selection of the projects we’ve completed across various sectors. Each example highlights the challenges we’ve met and the solutions we’ve implemented. This gallery is a snapshot of the work we do and the standards we maintain in every job.
For the Casey Lake project, Three Oaks Inc. took on the task of revitalizing a 39-acre lake by addressing significant sediment buildup. Our team successfully drained the lake and removed 200,000 cubic yards of silt and sediment, a critical step in restoring the lake’s health and usability. To manage the dredged material, we constructed containment dikes using native, cohesive soils, ensuring stability and compliance with project specifications. Additionally, we enhanced the lakebed by building and compacting four plateaus, each approximately 50′ x 100′ and standing 4′ above the lakebed.
Understanding the importance of long-term environmental impact, we placed fish habitat structures within the lake, setting the foundation for a thriving ecosystem. Along the shoreline, we constructed four fishing nodes, carefully excavating and conditioning the soils to achieve the necessary compaction. These nodes were designed to support future structures, with precise density and conditioning work to ensure stability, even with part of the foundation submerged. The Casey Lake project demonstrates our commitment to detail and our ability to execute complex environmental restoration projects with precision and care.
At Silver Lake, Three Oaks Inc. was tasked with stabilizing and restoring the shoreline to prevent further erosion. We began by importing 5,000 tons of rip rap and field stone, essential materials for reinforcing the eroded banks. To further support the shoreline, we harvested 3,000 cubic yards of fill material from the high bank along the shoreline. This fill was carefully conditioned, compacted, and keyed into the existing high bank to ensure long-term stability, especially where the banks extended 15 feet vertically above the waterline.
Once the fill was secured and stabilized, we meticulously placed the stone to reinforce the shoreline. To protect the newly restored banks from future erosion, we completed the project with erosion control measures and seeding, ensuring the durability and sustainability of our work. We believe that the Silver Lake project accurately reflects our commitment to preserving natural landscapes through careful planning, precise execution, and robust environmental protection measures.
Three Oaks has been awarded a 3 year $75m contract to move 3.4 million cubic yards of material to enhance the dredge material cells. There are 3 cells that contain dredge material from the shipping channel that services the Portsmouth/Norfolk Ports. The material is moved to allow ocean going ships to enter and exit the ports.
TOI will utilized 10 off road trucks, 4 excavators, 4 dozers, and misc equipment over the next three years to raise the containment dikes to create more freeboard for ongoing dredge activities.
Lock and Dam 2 Protective Island
Mississippi River
(Picture Coming Soon)
Â
Project is on the Mississippi river. It consists of moving 350,000 cubic yards of material from a dredge channel disposal pile. The material will then be placed onto barges and transported to an island in the river, placed on a slurry barge, then placed in its final resting place on a island to create wildlife habitat. As well as moving material to develop the eroded island other structures such as rip rap, top soil mounds, and willow trees will be placed for habitat.
Pool #2
Railroad Emergency
(Picture Coming Soon)
Summer of 2024 IA, NE, SD & MN received record rainfall 18+ inches in only 3 days. Multiple rail disruptions & derailments took place. Three Oaks Inc was called in to assist in repair efforts. Three Oaks was in charge of rock hauling an rock placement at multiple different sites. We deployed over 146 side dumps an multiple pieces of equipment, many pieces working around the clock 24-7. We brought in over 54,000 tons of rock to help aid the recovery efforts. Three Oaks Inc assisted in building multiple access roads, loading rock trains, side dumps, Hi- Rail rotary dump trucks & hauling – setting rail panels to get the track back in service.
